The Comeback Kid EA Review

The Comeback Kid EA

The Comeback Kid EA is a semi-automated trading tool. In addition to  trading automatically, the system has manual features that allows the user to intervene in the trading process. Therefore, you can utilize the onscreen buttons to enable it to trade to your liking. The vendor wants us to believe that its conservative risk settings can bring us about 5-10% monthly profits. In this review you will see whether this assertion is true or not.

The Comeback Kid EA is the work of Ryan Brown, a developer who also created Ranger EA, Vigorous EA, Pinpoint EA, and Redemption EA. The presentation of the system gives us a hint that Ryan doesn’t work alone, but we are not introduced to the other team members. Whilst they also indicate that they have been trading in the Forex market for close to 2 decades, no credentials are provided to prove their claim and consequent qualifications.

The Comeback Kid EA functionality

The other key features of this system are:

  • The system recovers bad trades with smart multi-order risk management.
  • It has customizable settings.
  • It only needs 5-10 minutes of your time daily
  • Customer support is available.

The Comeback Kid EA trading strategy tests

This bot’s strategy focuses on 2 indicator systems; an averaging-in flex-grid system and a trend trading system. The former approach focuses on the key S/R resistance points in an attempt to win back losing trades. However, the vendor notes that the system doesn’t take grid positions haphazardly. It only takes them when it ascertains that the price movement will be beneficial to the trader.

The latter method mainly gives the trader great entry points following a trend pullback. Therefore, you are asked to check your charts for about 5 to 10 minutes daily to identify potential entries. The EA handles everything else after you take your trade. Even though these logics sound fascinating, no insight is given on how they interplay to create the desired results.

Backtest report
Backtest report

This report shows us that the EA underwent testing from January 2000 to July 2021. It made 1587 trades but didn’t manage to win many of them. Only 69.63% of the trades were successful. The win rates for short trades were 68.67% and 70.52% for long trades. The system maintained a low drawdown of 12.73%.

A total net profit of $2,661.84 was created from an initial deposit of $3,000. The profit generated within an 11 year period was very small. It means that, on average, the bot only made a mere $241 annually.

Trading statistics
Trading statistics

When the account was activated on June 16, 2021, a huge deposit of $30,674.36 was placed, and the EA was able to grow it to $4513.26. The monthly profit is 4.63% against a drawdown of 9.19%.

Performance of trades
Performance of trades

There are 450 trades. The win rates of 61% for long positions and 65% for short positions, tells us that these trades have been performing poorly. They are even lower than the ones in the backtest data. The average win is 105.74 pips, and it is disturbingly way lower than the average loss of -161.23 pips. What does this outcome portray? Well, the system appears to be susceptible to losses.

Performance of open trades
Performance of open trades

From the above results, we can see that out of the 6 instruments that the robot is currently trading with, only the XAUUSD and the USDCHF pairs have recorded losses at -$86.50 and -$4.76 respectively.

Monthly profits
Monthly profits

The bot made steady gains for the first 3 months. The profits ranged between 3% and 4%.

Customer reviews

According to the vendor, 310 people have already purchased this robot. So, we are wondering why none of them has come out to reveal to us how the system is working for them. This is fishy, to say the least.

The Comeback Kid EA Review Summary

The Comeback Kid EA
3 5 0 1
Judging by the information we have now, the Comeback Kid EA is not a profitable tool. An in-depth analysis of the system disclosed that it struggles to win trades. Furthermore, with the grid element hanging around, the risks to the account will increase and worsen its performance. In all sincerity, we ask you not to buy this tool.
