European Stocks Finish Flat

On Tuesday, European stocks ended the day evenly with the Stoxx Europe 600 index XX:SXXP finishing at 452.90. While the French CAC 40 index FR:PX1 rose 0.43% to 7,215.58, the German DAX DX:DAX increased by 0.21% to 15,846.86 and the FTSE 100 index UK:UKX rose 0.11% to 7,461.46.

Some companies saw an increase in their shares on Tuesday, including technology company Samhaellsbyggnadsbolaget i Norden AB Series B SE:SBB, whose shares jumped by 15.4%. Leisure/arts/hospitality firm Carnival PLC UK:CCL and technology company Just Eat Takeaway.com N.V. NL:TKWY also saw an increase, with their shares up 10.8% and 7.1%, respectively. Delivery Hero SE XE:DHER and technology company Prosus N.V. NL:PRX rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks gained by 6.3% and 6.2%, respectively.

However, some companies had a decline in their shares on Tuesday, such as health care/life sciences company Ambu A/S Series B DK:AMBU, whose shares declined by 8.6%. Health care/life sciences firms Sartorius Stedim Biotech S.A. FR:DIM and Fresenius Medical Care AG & Co. KGaA XE:FME also weakened, with their shares down by 6.3% and 5.5%, respectively. Health Care/Life Sciences companies Sartorius AG Pfd. XE:SRT3 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG XE:AFX were also among the top five largest decreases, as their stocks weakened by 5.1% each.

The pound GBPUSD saw an increase of 0.27% against the dollar, while the euro EURUSD was up by 0.49%. Brent crude UK:BRN00 dropped by 1.79% to $73.02.

The yield on the 10-year gilt BX:TMBMKGB-10Y rose by 7.46 basis points to 4.378%, and the yield on the German 10-year bund BX:TMBMKDE-10Y rose by 4.660 basis points to 2.36%.
